Using Clinical Somatic Education, you are taught how to release muscle tension and improve your overall posture and movement. Chronic muscle pain and tension can develop overtime due to a multitude of factors (injuries, accidents, surgeries, etc.). There is a pattern to our muscle movement that contributes to adding more stress on a particular area which in turn causes the tension and contraction in our muscles to get “stuck”. It is an active learning process to change your muscular patterns. The sensory motor training teaches you how to control and monitor the way you subconsciously move. The goal of somatic education is to retrain our brain to send signals to the muscle(s) and tell them to relax and allow the muscle(s) to move easily.
