Get help with CDCP estimates, co-payments and booking.
Our team helps CDCP patients understand coverage confirmation, clinic estimates, possible co-payments, preauthorization requirements and the steps involved in arranging an appointment. CDCP participation does not guarantee that a service will be covered or paid in full.
Three practical steps
Patients visiting Regal Heights Dental Centre on St. Clair West should have their current CDCP information ready when requesting an appointment.
Check that your CDCP coverage is active for the date of your visit and know your current co-payment level.
Provide your current CDCP member information when booking so the clinic can review the appropriate next steps.
Before treatment, review the clinic estimate, the expected CDCP contribution and the portion you may need to pay.
Understanding eligible care
Coverage is determined individually. It depends on current CDCP rules, clinical need, frequency limitations and any preauthorization requirements. The examples below describe service categories—not a guarantee that a particular procedure will be covered.
Eligible care may include cleanings, fluoride applications and sealants. Explore our preventive dental and hygiene services.
Examples may include complete, recall, specific or emergency examinations and eligible digital dental X-rays.
Eligible services may include fillings and selected major restorative procedures. Some restorative care requires preauthorization. Explore our restorative dentistry information.
Periodontal care, removable dentures, oral surgery, sedation and other services may be eligible when applicable criteria are met.
Coverage reminder: Frequency limits, documentation and preauthorization may apply. Coverage is not automatic and should be confirmed before treatment.

Patient costs
Co-payment levels depend on adjusted family net income and apply to CDCP-established fees. A clinic’s fee may differ from the CDCP-established fee.
You may owe your co-payment, the difference between the clinic fee and the CDCP-established fee, or the cost of services that are not covered. Review these amounts before agreeing to treatment.
| Adjusted family net income | CDCP portion of established fees | Member co-payment |
|---|---|---|
| Below $70,000 | 100% | 0% |
| $70,000–$79,999 | 60% | 40% |
| $80,000–$89,999 | 40% | 60% |
Percentages apply to eligible services at CDCP-established fees. Additional charges may still apply.
Important policy detail
An estimate is not a guarantee of payment. A preauthorization decision confirms that relevant clinical criteria were met at a particular point in time, but it does not guarantee reimbursement on the date a service is provided.
Eligibility, program rules, available coverage and CDCP fees may change. Coverage must be verified again before treatment, and you should review the possible amount you may need to pay. CDCP coverage decisions are made under the program’s rules—not by the dental clinic.
Last reviewed August 20, 2026 against the current Government of Canada CDCP coverage information and Dental Benefits Guide. Program rules may change.
Helpful information
Regal Heights Dental Centre welcomes CDCP inquiries, but current clinic participation should be confirmed with our team before you book. We can also explain the appointment steps and whether a proposed service may need preauthorization.
No, CDCP does not always make dental care free. You may owe an income-based co-payment, the difference between the clinic fee and the CDCP-established fee, or charges for services that are not covered.
Bring your current CDCP member information and government identification. Also tell us about recent dental treatment and any dental coverage you receive through a federal, provincial or territorial social program.
CDCP is generally for people who do not have access to private dental insurance, so it is not normally combined with a private plan. If you receive dental coverage through a government social program, that coverage may be coordinated with CDCP under current program rules.
No. CDCP reimburses eligible oral-health providers rather than members. If you pay the full cost yourself, Sun Life will not reimburse you, so confirm direct billing and your expected portion before treatment.
Yes. CDCP coverage must be renewed for each annual benefit period. Confirm that your coverage is active before every appointment because care received during a coverage gap is not reimbursed retroactively.
